Marcus Rashford is in doubt in conjunction with the English Premier League (EPL) clash involving Manchester United with Burnley tomorrow night, said Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The England international’s services were not used on the bench in United’s 2-0 win over Granada yesterday to advance to the Europa League semi-finals against Roma 4-0 on aggregate.
Rashford-who often struggles with foot injuries-recorded his 20th goal of the season in the first meeting, putting him as the first Red Devils player to score a double-digit goal in a campaign in a row since Wayne Rooney did so 11 years ago.
The 23 -year -old has only missed three games this season, with the manager saying he would give Rashford room to regain his fitness.
“It’s a big bonus when he doesn’t have to put pressure on his legs (meeting Granada),” Solskjaer told a news conference.
“I hope he’s ready and doesn’t make it worse. That’s the decision I have to make.
“He is not necessarily on the bench. He did not train yesterday (Wednesday) but we are still taking precautions if his services are needed.
“So this is a decision I have to make tomorrow. But he is our backbone. It’s tough. We have to monitor Marcus in a few days.”
