Kylian Mbappe has revealed an ego trick that allows him to believe that his skills are unmatched, including when compared to Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo.
The France and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) striker has revealed how his highest achievement today is driven by tremendous self-confidence.
He has already surpassed the achievements of Messi and Ronaldo by winning the World Cup with Les Bleus and is increasingly greedy to collect trophies at club level.
Mbappe is aware of the reality that the Argentine and Portuguese star has racked up more glorious achievements than himself but he completely ignores the matter every time he plays on the pitch.
In an interview with French broadcaster RMC Sport, Mbappe explained about his ego approach: “Of course it’s very important because when you’re going through a tough time, no one but yourself can give you a boost.
“And you have to convince yourself that you’re capable of being on top of it. A lot of people don’t understand about ego but when you can’t do your best, no one will come to your house and tell you that you can do it.
“It’s just you and your thoughts. You have to persuade yourself that you’re capable of doing great things.
“Every time I’m on the pitch, I always tell myself that I’m the best even if I’m going to face Messi or Cristiano.
“They’re better players than me, they’ve done billions of things than me. But in my mind, I always say that I’m the best because that way, you’re not going to put limits on your abilities and you’re going to do your best. your self.
“Of course sometimes they don’t understand because I think that there may be limitations created in relation to this subject, where they don’t explain the true meaning of the ego.
“They’ll think the ego is like not giving a penalty kick to a friend or having a bigger salary than a player on the opposing team. It’s not that far, it’s bigger than a bad belief by saying ‘I’m me, I’m me.’ there’s a lot to say about it, ”he said.
