MILAN: Juan Cuadrado scored two goals including a late penalty as Juventus beat Inter Milan 3-2 that turned on their chances of qualifying for the Champions League earlier this morning in a match that saw three penalties awarded and both teams played 10 men.
Juve move up to fourth, on par with third -placed AC Milan and two ahead of Napoli who will play today.
The victory ended Antonio Conte’s 20-match unbeaten streak of Inter, who have denied Juventus their 10th consecutive title in the league this season.
“It’s important for us to win, so we can keep hoping,” coach Andrea Pirlo said.
“If we show the same desire and determination as in our last few games, we will be in a different position.
“If we’re into the last game of the season competing for fourth place, obviously we’re lacking everywhere.”
Cristiano Ronaldo failed to complete a penalty after 24 minutes but returned to score a goal that gave him his 29th goal in Serie A of the season.
