SARAJEVO: Bosnia and Herzegovina will host world champions France at the Grbavica Stadium here, for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers early tomorrow morning Malaysian time.
Bosnia previously drew without a goal against Costa Rica in a friendly last Saturday. France beat Kazakhstan 2-0 in the last qualifying action thanks to a goal by Barcelona striker Ousmane Dembele and Serhiy Malyi’s own goal.
In the previous four meetings between the two teams, France have won twice and drawn twice. The last time they met was in 2011, with the match ending 1-1.
Edin Dzeko’s first -half goal for Bosnia and Herzegovina was offset by Samir Nasri’s second -half penalty. Bosnia and Herzegovina operator Ivaylo Petev listed his strongest squad in this campaign.
Schalke left -back Sead Kolasinac, Barcelona midfielder Miralem Pjanic and Roma striker Dzeko have been called up to strengthen the squad. Malmo center -back Anel Ahmedhodzic is the focus of two English Premier League (EPL) giants, Chelsea and Manchester United.
Zrinjski Mostar center -back Josip Corluka and Istanbul Basaksehir winger Edin Visca were ruled out due to injuries. Meanwhile, French manager Didier Deschamps has a line -up of star players to choose from in their starting line -up.
Real Madrid center -back Raphael Varane; Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba; Barcelona striker Antoine Griezmann and Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe are all ready for action.
However, Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante is still injured and cannot be brought down.
